Quadruple Standard Signals in Just One Signal Conditioner
The A20340 from Knick is a new type of standard-signal multiplier that can output a standard input signal to four calibrated and galvanically isolated outputs in parallel. It thus allows up to four standard signal receivers to be supplied by a single, space-saving VariTrans A20340 without any risk of interaction.
Signal Quadrupling and Load Increases
The standard-signal multiplier features six ports for 4 ... 20 mA standard signals (1 output, 4 x output) and 1 x 24 V DC for the power supply. All six ports are galvanically isolated to protect against electric shock with reinforced insulation up to 300 V AC/DC. The product also allows for a high output load of 4 x 500 Ω, enabling use with all typical inputs on controllers and indicators. Where extremely high loads are required, pairs of outputs on the VariTrans A20340 can be easily connected in series as 2 x 1000 Ω without affecting the high signal quality. Thanks to a short response time t90 of just 1 ms, the A20340 can quickly reproduce the signal when measured values change, making the product ideal for rapid control systems.
In the Smallest Space: High-Level Functionality in Modular Housing
Signal multiplication is a standard task in ICA, where analog measuring signals need to be transmitted to a range of monitoring, control, and recording systems. In most cases, standard 4 ... 20 mA signals are used. The space-saving A20340 is enclosed in a 22.5 mm modular housing. A patented circuit design is used to ensure high-level functionality in a small space.
The A20340 performs purely analog processing of the signal without a microcontroller and is entirely made up of components that have proven themselves in use.
Applications
In power plants and large industrial facilities with complex control systems, distributed subsystems, or critical processes, many measured values such as temperature, pressure, and flow are monitored and usually processed redundantly for safety. Until now, these requirements could only be met by individual signal conditioners or signal doublers, which had to be installed on the DIN rail in the enclosure with additional wiring work.
With the A20340, a high-quality industrial product offering outstanding reliability is now available for this purpose.
