Energy storage
Battery storage systems and containers ensure the decentralized storage and provision of large quantities of power in a wide range of industrial sectors. The spectrum of applications ranges from charging stations for electromobility and surplus electricity storage for wind farms and photovoltaic power stations to voltage regulation in substations. Not least, battery storage systems play a decisive role in the independent supply of power to power plants, data centers, and other facilities in the critical infrastructure.
High voltage monitoring and current measurement
Continuous, precise measurement of cell voltages and currents are required for controlling and monitoring charging states on the one hand. On the other hand, they are the basis of predictive maintenance, which detects and remedies age-related capacity reduction or cell defects in time. Very high voltages and currents are a challenge for measuring large battery systems. Furthermore, small voltages must be measured at high potentials for the partial monitoring or restrictive analysis of individual battery cells. This is why for reasons of safety, transducers with very high isolation are required.
Why Knick?
Our range of high-voltage transducers offers proven solutions for safely testing and continuously monitoring battery systems on the cell, stack, and string levels. It includes voltage detection devices that detect when dangerous voltages up to (±) 4200 V are applied to housings, container walls, etc. and notify downstream protective devices.
