El separador de alimentación WG21 sirve para alimentar transductores de 2 hilos intrínsecamente seguros. Además, suministra alimentación al transductor y transfiere la señal de medición a la salida con una precisión elevada con aislamiento galvánico. Opcionalmente, el WG 21 transmite, junto a la señal analógica, protocolos de datos para transmisores SMART (HART). También permite una comunicación bidireccional con el dispositivo de campo de cada punto del cableado.
El elevado voltaje de alimentación, los datos de conexión Ex favorables y la fuente de alimentación de amplio rango permiten un uso universal. Ello permite sin problemas grandes longitudes de cable de 1400 m. Con un novedoso procedimiento de transferencia transformador, el WG21 ofrece una precisión de transmisión fuera de lo común para el uso Ex. El sellado ofrece la máxima seguridad de funcionamiento, constancia a largo plazo y rigidez dieléctrica incluso en condiciones ambientales extremas.
