The new P16000 from Knick is a pulse frequency conditioner that converts frequency signals from speed sensors into standard signals. This eliminates the need for pulse counting inputs in the control unit.
The transmitter can also duplicate signals from safety-related measuring circuits. This, for example, allows the signal to be processed in another control unit without influencing the safety controller. This absence of interaction achieves integrity level SIL 3 according to EN 61508. The P16000 is available for frequency ranges from 0 … 0.5 kHz to 0 … 20 kHz. Standard signals 0 … 20 mA, 4 … 20 mA, or 0 … 10 V are available at the output.
The new pulse frequency conditioner is extremely sturdy and features high transmission accuracy, even in environments affected by electromagnetic interference signals. It meets all common standards for both industrial and railway applications. Typical applications include speed and velocity measurements, for example in rolling stock.
