Seven exhibitions, newly renovated offices and a special one-year anniversary – 2018 turned out to be an eventful and successful year here at Knick Elektronische Messgeräte in Berlin. We look back and remember the most important events of the past 12 months.
We launched what was to become a very busy year with the MSR trade fair Meorga in Frankfurt am Main. This was followed by three more Meorgas in Leverkusen, Ludwigshafen and Bochum. We will be there again next year and are already looking forward to exchanging knowledge with other MSR specialists.
This year’s highlight was Achema, a leading international trade fair for the process industry – in Frankfurt in June. At our stand, entitled The Best Of Memosens we presented groundbreaking product innovations for the digital sensor technology Memosens.
Visitors also showed great interest in our products at the InnoTrans in Berlin in September. This year’s fair focused on digital networking and control, an ideal topic to present our latest precision measuring instruments for the railway industry.
We rounded off the year 2018 with our first stand at the BrauBeviale in Nuremberg in November, where visitors from the food and drink industry could find out about our solutions for digital, inductive liquid analysis.
During a summer that was dominated by heat, lots of sunshine and little rain, 15 Knick employees braved the extreme temperatures to take part in a 5x5km team relay race in June, organized by the Berliner Wasserbetriebe. Each relay team was made up of five runners from different departments, who competed against nearly 6,000 teams and showed endurance, strength and team spirit.
New for us here at Knick was our first Memosens Academy quiz. Over several rounds with varying degree of difficulty, those interested were able to test their knowledge of chemical fundamentals, modern liquid analysis and Knick products. For each completed stage participants were awarded successive titles of Memosens Assistant, Memosens Bachelor or Memosens Master. Our quiz proved rather popular as we were please to award 65 assistant titles, 45 bachelors and 37 master titles.
After nearly 12 months of modernization work, our colleagues from the Production and Logistics department, as well as the company’s management, were able to move into newly renovated offices this September. At the beginning of October last year, the old rooms – covering an area of approximately 560 square meters – were completely gutted and rebuilt from scratch. Our colleagues now have modern workplaces equipped with new acoustic ceilings, partition walls with sound insulation, air conditioning, dimmable LED lights, new windows and glass door inserts for more light – as well as height-adjustable desks. They can also enjoy a generous social area with a fully functioning kitchen during breaks.
In April, our North American office in California celebrated its first anniversary. General Manager of Knick Interface, Steve Allard and his team are committed to providing reliable solutions with our isolation amplifiers for our customers in the US, Canada and Mexico, particularly in the rail, energy, and motor and drives industries.
It was a year full of great events for us and we move into the festive season with a lot of great impressions. We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
